India vs Australia, 4th Test, Day 2

Day 1 of the 4th Test was some sort of bizarro world for an Australian fan. The Indian openers came out and attempted to bludgeon our bowlers out of the game. Offspinner Krezja made his Test debut with his first 3 overs going at 10 runs per over. As a spinner who's taken some stick myself, I can sympathise!

However, there were some moments when Australia rallied (or India faltered depending on how you want to look at it). Quick wickets fell in the first and last session so the game is fairly evenly poised at this point. But the first two sessions of Day 2 will be crucial. India will either bat Australia out of the game to clinch the series or Australia will claw their way into at least a potentially winning position. Much will fall upon debutant Krezja - a heavy load for a newbie. Live score courtesy of Cricinfo

starting is good,,,even if india bats the whole day and pile up a total of around 500 , i still wont rule out a chance of a draw here provided aussies bat well..

If this match is a draw, India win the series. Australia's only option is victory.

Re the highlight videos, I get them from crickettube.com each day before blogging.

Krezja has 7 wickets! Sure, he's going for 215 runs but who cares! 7 wickets!! And he's now on a hattrick...

my goodness,,kreija is going to make what i said true..10 wickets, hehe

Krezje gets Sharma - 8 wickets in his first Test innings.

And there's always the 2nd innings...

From a bowler's point of view, I wouldn't care about the 200+ runs. I'd be absolutely chuffed to take 8 wickets, particularly batsmen of the calibre of Dravid, Laxman, Sehwag, Ganguly, Dhoni - not to mention having Tendulkar dropped twice.

Jason Krejza. 8/215 and that so easily could have been 9/211. If only the laws allowed him to bowl consecutively.

8 for 215 is such a debut. He has picked up great wickets which is exceptionally good.

But he also has made a record of conceding the most runs by a bowler on debut beating Omari Banks for West Indies against Australia in Barbados 2003.

Punter clean bowled by Bhajji for 24
It is 74 for 2 now!!!
Kreja had 8. How much will Bhajji get?

So what if Kreja gave over 200 runs for his 8 wkts? He bowled 44 out of the 124 overs! And if you take the 30-40 odd runs plundered in his first few overs (by Sehwag; which is excusable for a debutant)... he has done exceptionally well.

The problem is Punter does not favour Stuart Clark. Indians play Clark with caution. THey have never really got the better of him ever. Yet, Ponting does not give him half the respect he gives Lee. He chose White over Clark.... and White managed only 10 overs. Stupid captaincy, mildly put.

Good Captaincy by Dhoni. If Ponting come, put Bhaaji and Ishant on. If Ishant can't pick him up, Bhajji surely will.

Good end to day 2. Match evenly matched. Aussies have wickets in hand but will bat last so need to score atleast 525 to put pressure on India.
